• Managed 22,829 human exposure cases with nearly 52,000 follow-up calls

• Handled 92% of poisonings involving children under 5 years old over the phone, preventing unnecessary trips to the doctor’s office or emergency room.

• Provided 158 educational lectures.

• Distributed 78,591 poison prevention materials

• Our 15 Specialists in Poison Information (SPIs) have more than 200 years combined poison center experience in serving Iowans
