Covers the methods of drug use, pharmacologic action, symptoms of abuse, and treatment for overdoses of synthetic drugs. Special emphasis on novel classes of synthetic drugs, including synthetic opioids, synthetic cannabinoids ("spice" or "K2"), synthetic cathinones ("bath salts") and other emerging substances and trends being promoted as alternatives to "K2" and "bath salts." Includes how these synthetic drugs are manufactured and sold, why they are so readily available and how they impact communities.  This lecture in held on-site at the IPCC.
