Information for Educators

In the United States over a 1.2 million children, 5 years old or under, are exposed to potential poisons each year. Many of these exposures are accidental and preventable. Educators play a key role providing information parents, grandparents, caretakers, and others need to prevent or minimize accidental injury. Older adults have increased risk of medication errors, drug interactions, and adverse effects. Many of these exposures can be reduced through education also.
